Juan Casulá Oliver joins the firm as a partner and will lead the Intellectual Property Department. Casulá has been practising law for more than 25 years, focusing on national and international lawsuits on patents, trademarks, unfair competition, advertising, intellectual property and related rights. Casulá specialises in preparing and negotiating all types of agreements, especially licensing agreements for patents and trademarks, transfers of technology and know-how, valuations of intangible assets, protection of trade secrets and business confidentiality, coexistence of distinguishing features, distribution, franchises and assignment of intellectual property.
He belongs to the Grupo Español de la AIPPI (Asociación Internacional para la Protección de la Propiedad Industrial e intelectual) and teaches in the Magister Lvcentinvm program at Universidad de Alicante. He speaks Spanish, English and Catalan.
Rodrigo López Crespo will also be joining the firm as an associate. He specialises in intellectual property, emerging technologies, anti-piracy, customs matters and competition law. He has considerable experience protecting intangible assets through registration, defending them in case of breach by third parties and preparing and negotiating all types of agreements. He speaks Spanish, English and French.
Juan Casulá Oliver and Rodrigo López Crespo will work out of the Madrid office. In Barcelona, Consuelo Álvarez Pastor (who has collaborated with the firm since 2014) will also form part of the new team and continue to advise clients in Spanish, English, German and Catalan.
This new IP team will be assisted by a German paralegal with more than 12 years of experience who will be joining the firm as well.
